UPTOWN


Uptown Charlotte is home to about 15,000 permanent residents, and that number is growing daily. With museums, world-class dining, coffee shops, wine bars and nightlife right at your doorstep, living in Uptown Charlotte is not only convenient to Fortune 500 companies like Duke Energy and Bank of America, but offers an exciting after-hours culture as well.


MIDTOWN


Encompassing the neighborhoods of Myers Park, Dilworth, Chantilly, Elizabeth, Eastover, Plaza-Midwood and NoDa, Midtown is loved for both its convenience and charm. Large willow oaks line the lively neighborhood streets where neighbors from all generations congregate, share and enjoy life.

Noted for its housing, shops, restaurants, microbreweries and other Charlotte attractions located along the Lynx Blue Line, the Southend is a favorite of young professionals for its easy access on the light rail to Uptown and multiple live/work options. Southend extends down Highway 521 (South Blvd.) from the East/West Blvd. Blue Line stop, south to the suburb of Pineville at the I-485/South Blvd. stop, and includes the neighborhoods of Madison Park, Sedgefield and Starmont.


SOUTH PARK


Centered around South Park Mall and the large South Park business and office parks, this is a highly desirable area that is convenient to what many residents consider some of Charlotte’s best places. Encompassing the neighborhoods of Barclay Downs, Cotswold, Stonehaven, Lansdowne, Quail Hollow, Beverly Woods, Foxcroft, Morrowcroft and others, many call this area home.

BALLANTYNE


The Charlotte area’s newest and hottest suburb, the Ballantyne area has grown from fields and pastures to upscale shopping centers and golf clubs. And it’s still growing, with new construction popping up every day. Ballantyne neighborhoods encompass the Arboretum, Piper Glen, Providence Plantation, Providence Country Club and the suburban towns of Waxhaw, Weddington, Stallings, Indian Land, SC and Lancaster, SC.

UNIVERSITY CITY


University City is a planned suburban area around the main arteries of Highways 29 and 49, W.T. Harris Blvd., Mallard Creek Rd. and I-85. The area is notable for all the types of housing available, from multi-family to 2-story brick homes and the retail and services available right in the area. The easy commute to uptown Charlotte makes this a popular neighborhood for people new to Charlotte and other long-time residents.

NORTH MECKLENBURG


North Mecklenburg is made up of the towns of Cornelius, Davidson, Huntersville and Mooresville as well as the community of Lake Norman and the planned, live/work neighborhood of Birkdale. Home of several NASCAR teams, many Charlotteans also call this area home.

SW MECKLENBURG

Southwest Mecklenburg, defined by I-77, NC Highway 49 south, Sandy Porter and Brown-Grier Roads and the Buster Boyd Bridge. It includes the neighborhoods of Ayersly, Steele Creek, Yorkmont and Lake Wylie communities.

MATTHEWS/MONROE


The townships of Matthews, Indian Trail and Monroe span Mecklenburg and Union counties and are the area of choice for both newcomers and long-time Charlotte area residents. With easy access to Highway 74 (Independence Blvd.) and Highway 51, you’ll find many, many housing options and types of neighborhoods to meet your needs and desires.

SHELBY / GASTONIA


The towns of Concord, Salisbury, Kannapolis and Harrisburg, located in Cabarrus and Rowan counties, started out as mill towns in their earliest histories, but have grown and thrived as the Charlotte area boomed over the last 25 years. Many commuters choose to live here due to the small town feel and easy access to Charlottes from I-85.

SHELBY / GASTONIA


Just west of Charlotte, nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Gaston-Catawba-Cleveland region offers a comfortable climate, friendly people and a long list of attractions. 


Gaston County is home to Gastonia, NC, Belmont Abbey College, the Schiele Museum of Natural History, the new Franklin Urban Sports & Entertainment (FUSE) District multi-use stadium, and Caromont Health, a nationally recognized hospital and healthcare system. The area is overflowing with opportunities to explore the outdoors, with Crowder’s Mountain State Park, the renowned Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden, and more than a dozen trails and greenways. 


Nearby Catawba County borders Lake Norman, one of our area’s most popular recreational lakes. This county is also home to the city of Lincolnton, NC, large companies like United Technologies and The Timken Company, Duke Energy’s Energy Explorium, as well as golf clubs, country clubs and local events like the Denver Days Festival and the Apple Festival.


In Cleveland County you’ll find the city of Shelby, NC, Gardner-Webb University, the Cleveland County Fairgrounds, the legendary Earl Scruggs Center, and the Foothills Farmers Market, not to mention the American Legion World Series and more than a dozen parks.
